Analicia Mejia Mesinas joined the probation Oversight Commission in the role of Predictive Data Analyst in November 2025.
Prior to joining the POC, Analicia was a Research Analyst for Los Angeles County’s Probation Department, Systems Accountability Bureau and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Azusa Pacific University. Analicia is a scholar, researcher, and advocate committed to advancing equity and justice through community-engaged research. With over 10 years of experience as a mixed methods researcher, Analicia collaborates closely with young people and community partners to generate critical knowledge that challenges dominant narratives around youth development, criminalization, and resistance. Her work centers the lived experiences of marginalized communities to inform policy and practice. Analicia is deeply passionate about using data as a tool for accountability, particularly in critically examining how systems shape the lives of young people and the communities they are rooted in.
