Ismael Chinchilla is the Communications Manager for the Probation Oversight Commission. Prior to joining the POC, Ismael served as a Marketing Analyst for L.A. County’s Department of Health Services where he managed marketing campaigns centered on Covid-19 awareness and health equity in marginalized communities. He also helped establish the Marketing and Public Affairs department at L.A. County’s Department of Social Services where he led marketing initiatives to destigmatize CalFresh, CalWorks, and General Relief recipients. He also has experience in higher education strategic communications.
Ismael was raised in Southeast L.A. and believes that communicating with our communities in a thoughtful, honest, and consistent manner builds the trust and rapport necessary for transformational change. Ismael holds a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley and is an MBA candidate at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
