Tyrique Shipp, Commissioner, Board of Supervisors At-Large

Tyrique Shipp is an Advocacy and Community Organizing Associate at The Anti-recidivism coalition, a system-impacted youth, and a committed community youth leader. With a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Northridge, and legislative experience advocating for youth justice reform, Tyrique brings both personal and professional insight to his role.

As the only youth commissioner on the L.A. County Probation Oversight Commission, Tyrique advocates for accountability and reform in the juvenile justice system focused on the needs of the youth by the youth. He advocates for initiatives like Youth Justice Reimagined, leads policy training on critical issues, and is dedicated to creating safer, more equitable communities for youth across California.
